The guy that bought my firebird messaged me and wants to show me what's he done, and we worked out a trade. He also had a 79 Camaro he just bought, and it came with a set of fenders from a 72 and standard non z28 79 fenders that were pretty rusted. so, we worked out a trade for my nice z28 fenders for the early fenders. So... you know what that means...split bumper...

Well, tomorrow I am making a long drive to meet up with a guy to do some horse trading...Hopefully will have my "New" 72 front clip. Wish me luck! once I establish what all I can get, have a large order at jegs ready to buy to get a big dent in the project

Scored pretty hard I'd say. I got most of the front clip from a 72 Camaro. Both fenders, upper and lower valance, the headlight buckets and housings, the parking/Turn Signals, rear bumper, brackets, Grill, chrome fender supports, windshield moldings, sill plates, and a few odds and ends I'm probably forgetting. Obviously, everything will need body work, but very happy to work on some metal parts instead of urethane. Bet this shaves off quite a bit of weight to as that crash bumper under the nose in the 78 is pretty damn heavy.

Now that I see what I got, I went ahead and placed a good sized order at jegs which should get me pretty far...

Carpet. New shifter, GPS speedo sensor, Pypes H style full exhaust, Core support for the conversion, 70-73 tail panel for the conversion, rear bumper brackets, new headlight bezels, the split bumpers, and prob some things I am forgetting right now.

Another day working on the Camaro. Today's progress was one of the big hurdles before I can really drive it, so felt great to check it off. The back glass had just been held in by the molding and a prayer. So today I pulled the glass out, scraped the hell outta the old sealant, got the channel cleaned down to bare metal, slathered on some anti rust black paint. Then got new window molding clips installed once dried and laid the butyl rope down on the glass, and got her put in. moldings back on, and done! I also got the front wind shield moldings that I just scored the other day installed as well. Simple progress, but good progress. I also realized he also gave me the small back glass moldings as well. Starting to think I may change to the small class as well as part of the conversion...IDK.

Windshield Molding On!
