In short, I just turned 16 and have no clue what I’m doing.

So my current problem is a loud sucking or maybe a vacuum sound from the carb.

Accompanying that the carb will not idle, no matter how correctly or incorrectly I tune it.

If it does idle, it’s barely and for only a short period, hovering around 500 rpm.

I have a 403 Olds engine with a 600cfm Edlebrock carb that I have replaced all the gaskets on, the only thing left from when it started making the noise is the conversion plate itself.

For the carb yes I'm aware it has the fuel mix screws dialed far back but please tell me anything I have wrong or ideas on what the problem is.

Well, the loud sucking you hear in the video is only louder under the hood, and it sounds like it’s coming from inside the carb.

But yes I’ve checked all the vacuum lines for apparent signs of wear and tear and ear tested them all.
