Hi all, I purchased a '68 Firebird a few years ago from a dealer, and the dealer had little info on the paint (it's a custom color) and engine rebuild details.

I wondered if there is a way to find the previous owner.

I would like to have the paint code in case I need a touch-up or something sprayed, as well as the engine(which is painted the same color).

Does anyone know if this can be done and how?

These days, they can scan the paint color on your car at nearly any “paint and body shop” and provide you with the “exact” color mixture.

Some automotive paint stores supply paint and body shops with perfect tints and shades of color down to exact percentages of yellow, blues, blacks, whites, etc.

I’d suggest you go to a body shop and ask if they can scan your paint color and make a “touch-up” kit that matches your needs.

They can usually do it for a minimal cost.

I hope this helps.
