77 Trans Am - Rear Leaf Springs Help

Recently I noticed my 77 Trans Am showing a rear sag on the driver's side.

I measured, and the driver's side is 1 inch lower than the passenger's side.

The car still had the original leaf springs.

This weekend I installed new rear leaf springs, shackles, and bushings.

The socks looked fine, so I did not replace them.

Upon completion of the installation, there was no change.

It still has the same 1-inch sag.

I would appreciate any ideas or tips on what might be wrong.

Do you have high-pressure gas dampers (shocks)?

Maybe the low side's damper has lost its gas pressure charge.

No, just standard Monroe replacement.

How are you making the measurements?

From the top center of the wheel well?

One or more of the rear quarter panels may have been replaced on your car, and these '70s-era vehicles were not originally manufactured to the closest tolerances.

I have measured a couple of different ways, such as the top of the tire to the top of the wheel well, the top of the wheel well to the ground, and the bottom of the shackles to the ground.

All are consistent regarding the sag.

I also plan to inspect the passenger side front coil spring, as about a 3/4" lift might contribute to the driver's rear sag.
