I replaced the headlight switch that controls the headlight and dash, etc, but no luck.

Blinkers work, and headlights work, and the dimmer and dash lights do not work.

I have the tach and speedometer cluster removed to check bulbs, which bulbs test well.

It seems like a good time to test the wires since they are easily accessible with the cluster removed.

I remember seeing somewhere that the grey wires need to be tested, etc, but I can't find that thread.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Fred

After a few minutes of getting inconsistent readings, I tested the fuse for continuity.

It turns out it was the fuse.

I feel like a dummy; I know better.

If you know this fuse, it's a small 4amp fuse.

It's hard to tell whether it's good or bad.

I can't believe it.

I made the mistake of taking out the fuse and just visually inspecting it and not testing it.

It looked perfectly intact.

I put the fuse back and started down the rabbit hole...
