So apparently, I was asleep longer than I thought.

I woke up one morning, and suddenly my 2000 TA is "old," and repair guys look at me like I'm crazy when I say my power seat will go forward but not backward, LOL.

I'm hopeful it's just the switch since the motor seems to be working otherwise.

Does anybody have any experience or suggestions on taking that seat trim off to get to the switch without destroying the tabs?

(Least favorite part of working on a car is the freaking trim pieces".

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

The switch is tough to find.

You can open up your existing one and clean the contacts.

Two 9/32 screws are holding the plastic trim on the D/S seat.

Remove the three connectors. The switch is held in place with three T10 screws.

Then there is a T9 screw on the back of the switch to hold it all together.

Remove the switch handle and then the switch cover, opposite the T9 screw.

There are six rocker contacts under the three handles/actuators. pay attention to how they are oriented (take a picture), remove, and clean.

Reassemble and test before putting it all back together.
