I'm clueless as to where to begin to learn the history of my '78 Trans Am.

For example, how do I learn how the car came from the factory?

Is there a place I can order that info?

Then, how would I go about learning the history of who has owned the car? I've had it for the past 3 years.

To start, you need the VIN as that will tell the story.

Thank you,
PTA Staff
Thanks for the reply!

2W87Z8N191286, which I believe translates to Pontiac, Trans Am (75-79), 2 door coupe, 400 c.i.d. 4-bbl carb, Norwood Plant

Where to from here?

Where can I get the original build sheet if there is such a thing?

You can also find the build sheet under one of the back bucket seats or, believe it or not, on top of the gas tank under the car.

That is where I found both of mine.
