Hi all, I am hoping someone can help me.

I am replacing the camshaft and lifters, as my lifters failed a few months ago.

I am taking the engine apart to get to the timing chain.

Can someone tell me, hopefully, with pictures, how to remove the timing chain cover?

I have removed the rad, fan, all the belts, water pump, etc.

I now see a white plate before the timing chain and cam.

What would be my next step?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

Remove the bottom pulley of the crank nose & undo the 7/16” & 1/2” bolts & the cover will come off quickly.

Try not to bend the mating surfaces as you pry it off as the gasket sticks pretty hard & the locating dowels will be corrupted, too.

If you look online, you’ll find lots of good diagrams & all of the torque settings; don’t overtighten & distort the cover.

Don’t forget to install a new seal.?
