I am a new member here.

I am the former owner of a 1979 Trans Am.

It was silver with a black cloth interior, and it was a 301 V8 with a 4-speed and WS6 suspension.

The original owner was Dennis Koenig of Fremont, NE, from whom I purchased the car.

I traded it off at Bluffs Toyota in Council Bluffs, IA, in April 1983 for a new Toyota SR5 4WD pickup.

The VIN number of the car is 2W87W9L192688.

I'm curious about whatever happened to the car and if it still exists today.

I am not interested in buying it back; I want to know where it went.

I have tried CarFax, but I keep getting a notice that the VIN isn't correct.

I would appreciate any help you could give me or a push in the right direction.

Thank you!

I know how you feel, I'm in the same boat.

I think that most Trans Am owners nowadays don't drive them on the road as much, because I hardly see any Trans Ams, especially ones from the 80s.

But that does look nice, though.

The best thing to do if you have the VIN (which you do) is to hire a PI.

Good luck.

Carfax does not take short VINs, which these cars do.
